Donald Trump is attempting to revoke President Obama’s coal regulations. As renewable and clean energy has become cheap and used widely throughout the rest of the world, it has has begun to overtake dirty and harmful coal energy. However, Trump wants to trash President Obama’s Clean Power Plan and encourage the use of more dirty coal and fossil fuels. Coal is the single biggest cause of air pollution in the United States and, because of the millions of tons of CO2 its mining and burning emits per year, it is one of the leading causes of global warming (which Trump and his EPA chief do not believe in). To reopen coal mines and rely on the dirty energy source would only further harm our environment and leave more toxic pollution for future generations.
