With the Holidays behind us, it is time to start thinking about some furry softball in Chicagoland!
But first, we should take some time to look back at our history. LAFFBall has been running since July 1999, organized by Stevie Calica and Quasi Skunk during that time. 2017 will be our 19th continuous year of operation and we could not be more excited. This coming year, we plan on staying in Lombard, Illinois for the majority of the year, though there are small changes we are looking into.
First, we would like to bring back the Anniversary Game in July. The last time this was held was in 2010 in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, just north of the Illinois border. This was a full day worth of events including an outdoor BBQ and was always the best attended game of the year.
Second, we would like to look into alternate locations that are easier for downtown Chicagoans to attend via the Metra, without hampering the ability for the regulars.
The schedule for 2017 will be posted later this week. Until then, have a wonderful week and break in that glove, because April will be here before you know it.
