I've done one for Gazi_Shepard and Doxie_Lacey so here's my explanation for Gerard.
Back in late 2012 when I was getting into furries and furry art I was a huge MCR fan-girl (I was 17.) I decided I wanted to try using this new furry animal medium to create some fan-art and maybe carve my own furry nice in the DeviantArt MCR fan community. So I started drawing MCR as animals, with Gerard as a grey wolf because it just worked....
For my 18th birthday I was given a lot of money and knew I wanted a fursuit, but I had no defined fursona then. I decided that as drawing MCR as animals was how I got into furry art it should be how I got into fursuiting too. Also, the idea of having a fursuit of a furry version of a real person is something I hadn't seen done before (and I still haven't seen it done) so I commissioned Gerard.
Since getting him as a suit I have been trying to make him a bit of his own character in a way, he is my way of reflecting my old love for MCR.
I'm not the biggest MCR fan anymore (the fanbase ruined it for me) but I still love their music and artistry. I love my Gerard Wolf suit and character, as he is unique and very special to me.
