ASMR & Asexuality
General
I have noticed quite a few people watching the group that note their asexuality on their profile. I identify as asexual as well, so this catches my interest.
Does anyone feel any sort of connection between the two? Possibly a preference for close personal attention over sexual advances that grew out of your interest for asmr?
For those that are not asexual, do you find that your sex drive is diminished after watching an asmr video? Or perhaps it is heightened?

I find ASMR triggers one of two different sets of internal reactions.
One reaction is, as best I can describe it, very primal. I hear it and brain off, out cold. Great for getting to sleep.
The other is from the RPs, which briefly give the illusion someone gives a toss about my existence/well-being. Relating, but in a more conscious way.
Neither has any affect on my sex drive, which can be off, on or in overdrive after or even during ASMR.
thanks for the feedback re: the topic :)
I think it just depends what it is though, some of the whispering/personal attention stuff is something I've noticed that heightens my sex drive. Other things like page turning, or hearing heels clack against the floor, that calms me down enough to be relaxed and sleepy. It feels weird to say that ASMR in a way does affect my sex drive (a lot of people don't like associating it with anything sexual).
Things with their hands or whispering in a certain way it heightens it. Because in that moment it's as if I feel what the person is doing. For example I watched a video of a woman feeling the bristles of a makeup brush on her face, hands, neck, and chest and it triggered me major. But when it is just normal things like playing with hair or tappig on things and normal whispering it just relaxes me. If my husband plays with my hair and was to softly talk while playing with my hair. I believe that would be a sexual feeling for me. I'm not sure why certain things increase sex drive. It's interesting though.
Maybe it probably is a benefit for those who are asexual.
For me it's definitely a thing about personal attention but I never really get aroused from it. I got into ASMR with the Ear Cleaning/Doctor roleplays so it never really acted as arousal or messed with me in that way. I definitely use it for relaxation and I do find that sometimes I'll get that way during one, because of the whispering, but not too much.
I am asexual and ASMR gives me the emotional intimacy no one else gave me. It also helps me sleep. All of my previous mates ditched me the minute they found out I was asexual. ASMR makes me...happy in a way. It's a companionship I don't think I can find easily.
more power to you! and welcome to the group! hope you feel at home here :)
Well, wouldn't say my boner just goes off after watching ASMR vids. They make my boner fade though, because I want that relaxation more than sex.
