Fur/Colors, Stuffing, Stitching & Extras
My first wolf tail was made using a fur found at Hancock fabrics (a very reliable fabric store) on clearance for $9.50/ft. I still have about 1/2 a ft left and a scraps grab bag if anyone is interested in a tail or just the fur scraps. Available colors from local Hancock stores is a camel tan under-coat with black fox tips or baby bear brown in the medium to long fur lengths. Always stuffed with soft pillow stuffing and double stitched to insure security while wearing. Belt loops are made from elastic with a button clasp or custom with a ribbon like tie. These faux furs are for realistic use.
Color and Wear-ability
It's backing is very neutral and not at all scratchy, though when sewing the paws i always insert gloves and double stitch them in, so there is no uncomfortable scratching or poking during wear times. Plus this allows for a snugger fit, if your hands measure small.
Lengths of the Fur
The length of the fur i bought for my first tail was 58/60" wide for about (regularly) $35/ft but on clearance (for what i purchased) $8.60/ft plus sales taxes.
Fabric Care
YES! This fur is able to be dry cleaned!
Swatches and Samples?
I can send you a swatch or a sample grab bag of types of furs and enclose info on their manufacturer, distributor/seller and quote to you appropriate prices if you buy them used from me, either in scraps or by the yard. Please be aware though, if you ask for swatches (about 4/4" in length) or grab bags, you must pay shipping. Shipping quotes will be calculated and then sending plans will be solidified from there.
Thank you for reading this update! Hope it helped! Any questions? PM me. :)
