So, I am writing this one day before I move out from my friends place. I was able to stay here while I found out what was going on here.
On last Wed I was given an ultimatum by my employer. Either return to work on Thursday or, I am termed. After explaining what was going on to my doctor, he told me in good faith that he could not give me the release.
Then I told him that I don't return to work I lose my health coverage and would have no way to follow up on the amputation surgery and the continued casts and braces to recover.
He was able to fit me with a walking cast, and I was able to return, much to the surprise of my department head. You see, part of our process of requesting an unpaid leave of absence is that I write a letter asking for a leave and the reason. Then corporate asks the department head for a recommendation.
My department head recommended against the leave citing needs of the department, saying that we were short 40 dealers and we needed every dealer on the floor.
However if i was released, it would be In Good Standing. meaning I could re apply for my job the next time it came open again (two months) with no health benefits, loss of my seniority, and loss of my accumulated salary increases over the last 11 years.
I had no choice, I put myself in the cast and tried moving forward. I still have the job and my insurance.
But no place to live. If my check tomorrow isn't a paper check, even though they have been informed to stop direct deposit because the account is closed, I will not be able to even afford that place to live. I took the last $100 I had to put down a deposit on a weekly motel room here in the area. It isn't much but it is somewhere to start from.
My doctor wanted me off my foot for another 4 weeks. Well that could not happen. Now I live with the pain. The other option is being completely homeless.
My Pride got the best of me, thinking I could somehow hold it together. Praying for tomorrow and trying to get my feet back under me.
After tonight my internet connection will become very spotty, with me only coming online once or twice a week from hotspots with this computer so other then commenting here e-mail will be the best way to get a hold of me, and it might be a few days before I respond.

Eeegh. :/ I'm sorry to hear you have to do this option. I hope some money can come in fast enough to get you properly housed and rehabilitiated. :/
