Who to believe?

So, I was told tonight that someone very close to me will never talk to me again because I told them the truth to try to protect them. The way I did it was probably not right, but, the end result was the two I was trying to protect are talking again & working things out. I guess if I'm the one left alone, it's just something I have to accept. Being alone sucks.
