Well, the story of that is the story of Cherry's name itself! I wanted a cute My Little Pony name for the pony... Something humorous yet memorable! And since the character I was creating was a hyper herm my little pony for shits & giggles, I gave Cherry the name shi has now. So, when it came time to pick a user name, I used that name!

I got mine from the PC game Star Craft: Brood War. It was my screenname and I sucked at the game incredibly online against other people. I only won 2 or 3 matches...

My character name is the same as my real name :3
