Having an excellent time so far. Room is very nice, people are awesome, many hugs and smiles given and received. And the fursuits?! Amazing! The creativity and imagination of artists, and even just regular joe's never ceases to amaze me. Last night, my son and I watched the preliminaries for the dance contest. My personal favorites were Mangusu the Monster Roo and Skrat. For reasons that escape me, Skrat wasn't chosen as one of the top 10 finalists. What?! I don't get it. Style, grace, exciting moves, rhythm! Yet No Skrat. That was a robbery, if you want my opinion.
I sat in on a few panels, one for grey muzzles, because hey, I'm no spring chicken (I'm not old.. I'm 43) anymore. My son said, ""Dad, you don't belong there." Of course, being a parent, I supposedly know more than my kid. Anyhow, when I arrived, I truly didn't belong there. Very little of the discussion actually consisted of what originally brought us "grey muzzles" to the fandom. Instead, they discussed their medical problems, medical problems and more medical problems. I was hoping to hear more about suiting, about the start of the fandom, about... well, anything but kidney stones and arthritis! The speaker was a fifty-ish man who said, during the course of the conversation many times, that he was in MENSA, in fact referred to himself as a MENSEN numerous times. i admire intelligence. i despise braggarts. Ages ranged from 40's all the way up to what appeared to be mid 70's. Gods bless 'em, keep on truck in' hipsters. I'm afraid i'll be missing the grey muzzle breakfast this morning.
Today I'll be suiting... A LOT. Good thing I packed extra clothes! The parade is going to last up to 2 hours. They estimate approximately 3000 people at this con. While not every one of them is fursuiting, there are many, MANY costumes. Tonight is the dance competition, and I am going to that as well. Lots of pictures to be taken yet, and I will be uploading them here Monday.
Another update tomorrow morning.

Sounds like everything is going well thus far. Also some panels don't describe exactly what people are looking for sometimes so expect some confusion. Can't wait to see what pictures you take while you are there.
