it might not have dove into the backstory of the pyro, but we got a look into the character. All doubt in our minds have now been erased: the pyro is fucking bonkers, just like the rest of them. And now we know that 100%.
The thing about the pyro is that he's supposed to be mysterious. He's masked, we don't know his voice or identity. A backstory would change how we look at him completely, and though that was cool for the other characters, the pyro is meant to be a sight-gag of unknowns.
It wasn't the most powerful Meet The video, but it's still part of the pack!
There were also those who thought the pyro just had a really dark sense of humor... Hence putting the enemy team engineer's glove on his head to look like a chicken. That doesn't confirm that he's insane at all. This did.
I think they did a fantastic job of nailing down his personality while still giving him plenty of bad-ass clips, joking about the possibility of him being a girl once or twice, and showed what his own team thinks of him which hasn't been shown ever before. (the interviews in the beginning are red team. That's his scout talking bad about him.)
As good as meet the medic? No. Probably not. But i liked it better than meet the spy which... Wasn't even all that funny.
Well, Pyro might not be "bonkers". Since TF2 takes place in the 60s, I know me and a ton of my TF2 buddies were conversing on how maybe Pyro just did some of the most wacked out 60s acid ever. Or yes, just downright crazy. Still open-enough that I'm scared to know which one is right.
I'll just quote a friend of mine as I fully agree with what he said.
"It wasn't as good as Meet the Medic and probably Meet the Spy, mostly because it lacked interaction. I think that's what's improved throughout the videos; they went from talking heads to actual stories. And this one kind of went back to talking heads, really. Basically if this had come out before Meet the Spy it would've been the best video thus far because it would've taken that style of video to a ridiculous extreme, but going back after seeing characters chatting and conferring kind of made it a bit underwhelming".
So many idiots on the TF2 group page on Steam are calling the Pyro a brony now just because a balloon horse appeared for 5 seconds...God, when will these people finally shut the fuck up about mlp.
Most likely... it's because they want to make fun of Pyro, so they come up with something with a close resemblance to the graphics shown in the video, the most prominent and memorable being the bright pastels of the Pyro's vision. The current most popular similarity is MLP, and because that's what he sees, that's what his world is, he becomes a 'brony'
Of course, I could always be wrong, but this makes sense to me.
I think it was because the stupid balloon horse that appeared for literally 5 seconds, but then Valve made it an actual item, so it could just go on from there...
At this point, if Pyro's a boy or girl, it doesn't matter, whoever Pyro is is TOTALLY NUTS or TOTALLY WACKED OUT ON some SUPER 60s ACID. I hold both options to be a possibility.
All I've got to say. Someone predicted it.
Is it because in meet the Pyro we saw nothing of a backstory and we expected so much, or was it because it was just so weird and mildly funny?
No, sorry Valve for me you peaked at MtM and MtP was just a weak flail.

A misplaced item, forgotten lenscap or teammate can cover JUST that that we need to see to find out anything, but the intention would have been there.
As for knowing if the pyro was nuts or not...surely everyone already knew 100% he/she/it was.
As for the Meet the, The stories, conversations and more of that were just way better in Meet the Medic and Meet the Spy.
-I was just very dissapointed, doesn't mean everyone has to.

Also, Mr. Balloonicorn!

Okay so, according to the internet, any horse appears anywhere = automatically affiliated with My Little Pony?
Learn somethin' new everyday.

i'm very afraid.... o.e very, VERY afraid...
He Definitely made "The Entire team are babies" Real in his Imagination.
but, The Big Question still goes on.
Is Pyro a Girl or Boy?
