I don't know why, I just started thinking about this and decided to share it with you all. Not necessarily in chronological order.
Star Fox- duh; this is only the one I talk about all the time; I wrote a ton of shit for this and was heavily into it until... there weren't any new Star Fox games and stopped giving a damn
X-Files- I think I only completed one actual fic, and it was a Whitewolf crossover with friend insertion characters; that is not meant to sound as gay as it does; my mom writes X-Files fanfic and it's all my fault
Whitewolf/World of Darkness- I wrote a handful back in high school, including some apparent crossovers with Star Fox; ugh
Redwall- I participated in a Redwall-themed RP board once, but all I have are a couple character intros and some stuff featuring Redknell, who I resurrected for that one contest I didn't win
NeoPets- wow; a former online girlfriend got me into this; I wrote exactly one fic, about my pets; it's kind of cute
Super Mario Bros.- this was a big mistake, and I regret it
Pokemon- I never actually finished this; I almost want to
Bleach- you've all seen this one; I wouldn't actually count it, since it's supposed to be ironic and self-aware and all
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic- duh; this is only the one I talk about all the time; I'm currently writing five different fics at the same time; somebody help, my head is full of poni

I also have written in the Eragon fandom.
You got me beat by a longshot...
IT MEANS YOU ARE NORMAL
SAVE YOURSELF D:
In high school, it was Star Trek (TNG and then DS9 -- never really got into Voyager enough), and then in the late 90s, a few Tiny Toons fics, a bit of Lion King, a Disney Beauty and the Beast/Hunchback crossover that sadly never got finished, and then Tarzan and one or two of Spirit (although I had the horses speak). Most of this stuff was more like scenes and things, not actual finished stories, except for the Tiny Toons ones (those were also the only ones that were put out for public consumption).
I never did write any Redwall fanfic, though I always vaguely wanted to. I remember reading some of it online, and there was a really great beginning I found of a story called "The White Fox," about a fox raised by a family of otters. It was unfinished, though, and then the site went down and I never found whether the author completed it or not. For a while, I thought about finishing it myself, but I was busy with other stuff, not all that into fanfic anymore anyway, and not as much into Redwall. If I'm being facetious, the closest I come to Redwall fanfic is my forthcoming novel By Sword and Star. :p
Somewhat more recently, I did a Twilight Zone fic (a sequel to "Time Enough At Last"), that I'm still fairly proud of. And, of course, one could count The Tiger's Son.
Anyway, going back through all of this got me to thinking that there just hasn't been that much lately that's made me want to write fanfic, at least not when I have so much of my own stuff nagging at me to be completed. A year or two ago, when I watched all the episodes of Beauty and the Beast from the 80s, I really got into that, and I remember thinking that if I were to write fanfic again, it would be for that world -- but, again, a good idea never showed up, too much of my own stuff, and so on.
Of course, a few months ago I did dash off a quick opening scene of a Pirates of the Caribbean fic, because I'd love to explore how Davy Jones met and fell in love with Calypso (even though I'm sure there have been tons of stories written on that already, and probably better than I could do in terms of being up on all the seafaring terminology). And then I had other stuff to finish, and novel revision to do, and... well, here we are again. >^_^<
Glad to know I'm in good company though. :D
It's okay though. There have been A LOT of flops concerning him and his brother... hell, look at the live action movie D:
It was a piece written around a friend's characters, and it ended up completely being about my author self-insert character. Not my finest moment.
