Depends on what one you go for. Usually they bait you by keeping the price of the phone low...then the bills for data and service are usually what bite you in the arse.

I have no smart phone myself, but having had iPod Touch for the last few years have been biased towards iPhone...but I'm patiently waiting until I can afford both the phone and the service before I get one.

I've found that even without a smart phone, having a simple gadget like iPod Touch that can do simple PDA tasks can be very...VERY helpful. I keep track of all my appointments, contacts, photos, everything on it.

Well, I've never had a PDA before.

And if I do get one, it's likely not gonna be an iPhone.

PDA is just kind of a general term for any electronic gadget that acts as a personal organizer. Of course, dedicated PDAs died mid-decade with the rise of smartphones, so it's kind of an archaic buzzword.

I still use it to refer to my iPod though, since I use it as one.

Well, I've never had a device of such kind, that's my point. And I just use my iPod as a music player/radio.
