san andraes is biiig and you can swim. But eather one is good. TA 4 has a great story.. so doe SA.. but SA lets you mess around with flying more.... But i like GTA4 more
SA was much bigger and had more cool stuff to do. I was kind of disappointed that they trimmed the features in GTA4. It's still an excellent game, but I had more fun in SA.
Seriously, what is up with GTA IV? I bought it I think at least a year ago, but my PC couldn't handle it. Just bought a new one, but that whole Windows Live and Rockstar Club thing just isn't working. I never manage to get into the game, it freezes beforehand, or there is a problem with the Rockstar club, or with Windows Live...
Since I can't get it to work at all, obviously I have to go with San Andreas.
GTA 4 was ok, and I could cope with the story and its DLC.
Though San Andreas is the only GTA, by far, that has the most customization in any GTA game. From Cars to clothes. I remember playing that game long after beating it (2-3 years) on my PS2
Memories...
Though, GTA 4's graphics were ok, I just wish more were done to it.
Neither, Simpsons Hit & Run. A fair bit of the same action, like the driving missions and crap...plus the Simpsons, minus most of the language, most of the violence, and all of the prostitution. Which, don't get me wrong, can be welcome in the right place...but mah gaming is not it. Besides...GTA doesn't let you run over Patty and Selma :D
Not such an easy question. :P
SA is more colourful, and more in keeping with GTA's tounge in cheeck attitude. and it has tons of variaty.
4 on the other paw has more of a realistic vibe, but in doing that it feels less funny. But it has better physics and more of a sense of control for Niko (like the ability to pick stuff up)
I'd say go for what style appeals to you as both have very engrossing and fun storys.
I should add, though, if you're asking because you want to know what to buy, and you decide on GTA4, check and see if Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition is available in your part of the world, and if not, when it will be. It just launched in the US for Xbox 360 and PS3, and only costs $40 US. For that, you get the entire original game PLUS the two add-on packs, The Lost and The Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. If you bought the game when it originally launched and the two add-on packs separately, it would have cost $100 US.
Would still rather Vice City.
But San Andreas if I'm stuck with those two. =\

Also try getting Undead nightmare pack for Red Dead Redemption . Played it and it's very good !
Actually i never really liked the driving physics of GTA4 the car seems to glide and fly rather than been driven.
IV sucked ass IMO
No me gustan esos juegos.

(PC versions are another story. I love both)

those games are all the same T____T
:p
4 and Vice both sucked from trying too damn hard.
