Ok, I have had an otta for my fursona since I started really. An that was a choice relating to how I had them in my backyard creek when I was growin up, an how I see them alot still. They feel kinda ...connected to me? Lots of reasons. And theyre friggin cute as hell. I see them as unflinchingly playful and irrepressible and determined to have fun. So yes. Lots of reasons why I like them

Ive thought alot about why theres been this rise in favor of otters as sexy an all. I think some of its the playful, slinky quality. But moreso than that, I think unlike alot of other species, if you put a personality to them, theres this innocence beneath it all. Otters are like kids. Playful, curious.. and all cub art and porn and stuff aside, part of the draw to innocent things is discovery. I think underneath all this recent appeal- the move from the standard fox and husky archetypes into otters- theres some of that going on. The draw of the cute and innocent in a fandom full of so much that is anything but.

That and the big fat pillowy tailrudders. Love them so much. *hugs his rudder* Like I said, cute as hell :3

They're slim, generally love water and swimming, they're sexy and adorable and cute.
And they're not too mainstream but just known enough to be often used in artwork which makes me happy!

Personally I blame beachfox's "otters are sluts" campaign. My "cats are sluts" counterpart has not taken off as well.

They are out there, although I agree that it's odd how much more frequent the "sluttier" versions are. But I feel similar in that the more dominant otters are significantly more attractive than the slutty bottom ones.
