I've got one, and the large screens are awesome. Though they are a tad pricey.

Overall, how much did it cost?

Well, I'm from the UK. So it cost me about £150, not including postage.
But I think it was worth it. My eyesight isn't too great, even with my glasses, so I consider the larger screens a major plus. I don't have to hold the console a few inches from my face any more. :3

The Nintendo 3DS comes out before the ned of the year, don't be such a tech whore and wait for an actually worthy successor to the lite
the dsi is insultingly stupid, it's just a dslite without the gba carts and the LL is just a dsi with a bigger screen but WITHOUT any increase in resolution
if you need to piss away money that badly just get a psp

Woah, settle down a bit. We barely know anything about the 3DS, and I actually do like the idea of a bigger screen. I'll be willing to buy it if it's easier on my freaking eyes. i don't have any GBA games, so I could care less if they took it out or not.

Personally? I wouldn't. If you've got the extra money lying around, then sure. Go for it.

Me, however... I still have the bulky DS. And I love it, for the record. <3

I say hold out until the 3DS comes out, my DSi hasn't exactly served me very well (Badly built L and R buttons and the such).

Huh... er...can't you trade in your DS Lite to get around $60 off from the XL? That might make the blow less...suck... xD

Well, do you use your DS a lot? The screens are lovely, but unless you got a show to put on, the cinema won't be worth it...
My original DS broke (the old one),after serving me for about 4 and a half years... so I guess the upgrade was almost necessary for me. It all comes down to how much you'll use it (*coughcoughAcekard2iftw*)

im not gonna get an DSi i still got the DS lite and thats good enough for me the XL are realy cool not the less but one i already have one and 2 i dont like the colours it has right now haha i think ill just wait until the come up with something new like the 3DS now that sound good =^^= but ill tel you one thing a couple of days ago i discoverd that my niece has 5 nintendo ds'es haha 5 each and i'm not seprised if she whants the XL version to haha
