One more step done towards UK settlement
General
Before I can apply for a settlement visa here in the UK (also known as "indefinite leave to stay"), I had to pass a "Life in the UK" test. It's made of 24 random questions on multiple topics regarding history, current customs, celebrations, political and law, among other things. One needs to score 75% or higher to pass.
My appointment for the test was today, after a totally sleepless night... and I passed! :D
If I had failed then I could have made one or more attempts until I passed, although each one would require the same fee, so it was nice to have passed on the first try.
If current conditions continue, next year I should be able to apply for settlement. Given the current political climate here and in the USA, I will follow that the following year with full British citizenship. I'll still retain my American citizenship and passport, as being a dual citizen will make lots of things easier and better for myself and Hamakei.

*massive sigh of relief*
That was my biggest worry since you first announced plans to move, that you wouldn't keep your American citizenship.
Congratulations on becoming American-British!
GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES AND THE UNITED KINGDOM!
But when you're the financial heart of the world, you can make any country rat out U.S. citizen's assets to the IRS. Even Switzerland folded
I wish you a great start in the UK!
Although I kind of think that the test you got was kind of like:
CIRCLE THE RIGHT ANSWER
Color/Colour
Center/Centre
Truck/Lorry
Apartment/Flat
Cookie/Biscuit
Coffee/Tea
And so...
They also make you eat a bacon cheeseburger with fries with ketchup and a coke loaded with ice cubes, and chicken wings with ranch sauce. If you don't show that it's the best meal you ever had, they fail your citizenship test :P
