Potential Dodgy Artist! Commissioners Beware!

Heyya, this isn't my usual sort of thing to post, but I'm calling out 
SkrillStrikers (Alt 
lil_skrill) for scam-ish behaviour and being potentially dodgy.
I commissioned and paid for a YCH slot over a year ago (on 10/03/2025).
This artist missed their initial dead line of 6 months, and has been unresponsive for extended periods. Initially I was told by them that they use a deadline system so that works are not delayed indefinitely, however this now seems to be the case.
When I first this chased up I was told that their partner was sick, and as this YCH was a joint art piece, and so work was delayed.
However since then communication has been very poor, and almost non-existent.
I have not received any updates, sketches or WIPs, and I've had to follow up multiple times, and usually I've been met with either a delayed or more often, no response at all.
This slot cost me $40 USD (With the exchange rate, I ended up paying about ~$60-$70 AUD at the time).
I have been communicating with Skrill via Telegram, however I believe I have now been ghosted. I last followed up through Telegram on the 24th of March 2026, and they have not replied.
They seem to have gone totally silent on me despite Telegram showing me that they were "last seen recently".
This journal is a last resort, I really don't want to post this publicly but my attempts at communicating with this artist are now futile and unproductive. I want to keep giving this artist the benefit of the doubt however my trust has been broken and I think I have been scammed.
It's pretty frustrating, at this point if they don't intend of completing the artwork I just want a refund for this slot but I doubt I'll even get that, or a finished art piece at this point.
I'm sure there is a better way of going about this but I think I have expended all of my current options. I really hope that I'm just overthinking things but I also want to hold this artist accountable in the hopes that they do the right thing and either refund me (preferable), or finish the YCH that I've paid a slot for.

Update (April 15): It has now almost been a month since I messaged the artist and I still have no response

I'm not sure what their refund process is like but most alternate platforms seem to be adverse to processing refunds, so unless the artist decides to refund me, i don't think im getting my money back
I just wanted to bring attention to this artists behavior so others aren't potentially scammed.
