Chapters edited
I edited 3 chapters for Mind Your Step, 3 chapters for The Engineer’s Family, 1 chapter for Harker, and I managed to slip in one chapter for Going Home after I was done with my writing.
Other stuff
I finally have a basement sink that no longer leaks.
When I bought the house, it came with one of those ancient basement concrete sinks. It was divided into two, and one side already had a large crack in it, making it unusable, but the other one was fine. It developed its own crack over the years and started leaking, but, because I’m me, I threw a bucket under it and called it resolved. The crack grew larger, and I applied that sealant tape, and called it resolved. That didn’t hold so I used that spray on sealant and called it resolved. That only reduced the leak to a trickle, but I no longer had to empty the bucket daily, so that worked.
And the leak kept getting larger. So I decided I had enough and started looking for a replacement. My criteria were simple, or so I thought. Affordable, plastic and basic as <bleep>. It’s that last one that made the other two nearly impossible to find, because all my searches returned high end looking sinks. The kind of stuff you arrange your decoration around, when all I wanted was a plastic tub.
I did find one, that wasn’t as affordable as I would have liked, but it met my other criteria, so I ordered it, and when a friend visited, we started the change over. That meant removing the existing plumbing, which went fine, but showed us I’d have to buy new pipes, so we did that…. And returned exhausted.
No big deal. We’d just destroy the concrete sink the next day and have everything done before he had to leave.
Yeah. That didn’t happen.
So, for a few months, because I was not tackling this on my own and ending up with no sink, I had a leaky sink without any plumbing attached to it. I MacGyver something together to make that manageable and the only time I had to deal with the bucket was when I did laundry.
Well, this past weekend my friend visited again and this time, we started with destroying the sink, bringing the concrete to the dump, and then set everything up, and it went extremely well. We even thought ahead and bought the pipes to give the laundry machine and the house dehumidifier their dedicated pipes so they no longer had to hang on the side of the sink.
It is so nice to no longer have to worry about a leaking sink.
On the health side, I have my cystoscopy on Monday, and that came back clean. So, no cancer for the time being. Because the chemo seems to work only for two years at a time, I discussed being preemptive instead of waiting for the cancer to return before doing the chemo again, and he agreed that a maintenance treatment could be good. So, if my next cysto is clean, he’ll schedule me for one chemo treatment, instead of the usual six, and we’ll do that every six months and see what happens.
And that’s it.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask them. If you want to drop by my stream, that’s Monday to Friday, 8am to 3:30pm EST on Twitch and Youtube. https://www.twitch.tv/thetigerwrites and www.youtube.com/@TheTigerWrites. There’s also the Saturday Social, now, 6pm EST on Saturdays, where I’m around to chat, answer questions, and, when things become quiet, get some writing in.
Oh, and I guess I should mention this. If you want me to write for you. You can look here: https://thetigerwrites.weebly.com/commission-me.html. I should say something here about how I’m worth every penny, well, dollar these days. Blame inflation. I had nothing to do with it. But you’re reading something of mine if you’re here, so you can make that decision yourself.
Have a good weekend, and see you next week.
