Update/Ideas

General
The combination of autism and adhd in my brain demanded I do this now
I'll try to keep this spillage of ideas into the cyber-void organized. No promises.
This'll all either end of in my featured folder later, or a separate public document where I keep track of information and ideas I'm willing to divulge.
I also need to change my OS to a Linux one and copy all my docs into Libre Office. Still deciding which one to go with. Thanks, forced enshitification of the internet due to governments.
Scarlett and Trailmix/Fallout Setting
New Vegas, The Mojave, the NCR, Mr. House, Yes Man, Caesar's Legion
I've been going back and forth on if I should touch anything NV related because people are very touchy when it comes to their preferred ending(s) and choices being invalidated (Ex. the online reception of the Fallout tv show's second season). I've been throwing around things like: what would become of the legion after Caesar's death? What if the NCR doesn't get the dam? If I decided the Mr. House ending to be cannon, how would this affect regions outside the Mojave and what inevitable conflicts would arise? What would become of House and would his goals even be possible should he come out on top? If Yes Man takes over blah blah blah I could go on. I've decided to try to marry community sentiment with my own ideas on what may interesting. Looking around for which NV endings were most popular or favored gave me this data:
1. The NCR and Mr. Houses endings were constantly trading the top two spots.
2. the Legion usually came dead last in popular or preferred ending rankings.
This, combined with the Legion's collapse being all but inevitable after Caesar's death has made me comfortable sorta touching NV lore. Will I decide if the NCR or Mr. House came out on top? No. I'm leaving that intentionally vague.
Caesar's Legion
After Caesar's death, many of the tribes that'd been incorporated have broken away without the excellent statesman that was Edward Sallow at the helm. The Legion itself has substantially shrunken in size, but hasn't completely collapsed. The Legion has reconsolidated in Colorado, exercising control over most of the state, as well as maintaining control over the closest tribes and their territories outside the state. The tribes that've escaped Legion control have formed into "Tribe States", attempting to govern themselves and conquer or ally with others. Some have mirrored Legion societal and government structure, some have taken inspiration from the NCR, others are trying their own systems, or have created their own from scratch rather than adopt old world ideas.
(I thought having the Legion mirror the fall of Rome and the rise of the Byzantine empire, but that's the obvious thing to do. No, apocalypse HRE is more fun)
Timeline and Cannon
Q: When does Scarlett and Trailmix's timeline take place?
A: Undetermined years after New Vegas.
Q: Has Scarlett been to New Vegas?
A: In spite of my reluctance to touch NV lore, yes! She was there sometime before or during the events of NV, haven't decided exact time yet. Still want to keep which ending happened, save for the Legion ending, vague.
Q: Doesn't that mean Scarlett and Trailmix's stories take place somewhere alongside Fallout 3?
A: Yes, and no. I'm rather tempted to rewrite Fallout 3 to take place some 50ish years after the Great War, in an effort to explain why the Enclave was on the East and West Coast, why there's barely been any rebuilding, etc. My rewrite would have the Enclave originally appear in DC, with the populace rallying to combat the "Ghosts of The Apocalypse" that lay claim over the ruin they've caused, causing the Enclave to flee to a backup base (the oilrig), only for DC to fall into chaos with no common enemy to fight.
Q: Will the Enclave or the Brotherhood make an apperance?
A: The Enclave? No. They've long since fragmented and dissipated. Fragments have influenced others, though. The Brotherhood? maybe. Only if it fits or can explained via established lore from Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and New Vegas. I don't want to shove the same factions into everything, unlike Bethesda.
Q: Is the Fallout tv show cannon? What about Fallout 4?
A: The Ghoul from the show? Yes, he's cool. Other things from the show? Maybe, only if they're cool or aren't lore breaking/interfere with my own ideas. Most of the show? No. Fallout 4? Sure, but I've yet to decide if anything will take place alongside Fallout 4's timeline. The Glowing Sea, Radstorms, Fallout 4 has some fun ideas, so I'll shamelessly steal and recycle those. I'll try to leave it to the reader to decide if 4 is cannon or not.
Q: Will you visit New Orleans?
A: Yes. Many people seem to want a game set in Louisiana, so I'll happily satisfy that want for New Orleans. I've been interested in that city long before Fallout: New Orleans was an idea I came across. I've done and am currently researching and brainstorming to create something that's hopefully complex, fun, and unique
Mexico
If you've read part 1 of The Devil's Right Hand, you'll know that it'll take place in Mexico. I'm trying to make something more unique than the standard "the cartels took over and run everything" you usually see in Mexico what-ifs. Will Mexico the cycle of empires, as a part of Fallout is about? Yes.
