Looks like I'm committed to being a furry (pervert)

General
I've realized that I've never really made a proper journal on here so here I go.
I'm been lurking around FA and the furry fandom for a little over 16 years now, and while I never really found myself reaching out or connecting with people (or at least being in the right mind space to keep connections) I've realized how much I appreciate the creativity and weirdness that this fandom can create and embrace. With not really having any other social circle or fandom able to provide the same degree of comfort or comradery without possible judgement and talking behind one's back. As much as I felt this was just something on the side to lurk around, to keep insisting I'm not a furry it's undeniable that I'm one, at least somewhat closeted or on the down-low. Of course I'm not going to be shouting my obsession with werewolf paws from the rooftops, there's still some decorum to be had, but it has been nice being able to almost confess my attraction to anthro characters, themes, elements and media. clean or lewd (a bit more the latter honestly) with other like-minded and intrigued individuals.
I've also learned more about a decent amount of the furs I've gotten in contact with, and learned more about their other interests and obsessions, studies and expertise, and has been so much more intellectually satisfying to talk about with than other professionals or academics I've encountered in my normy life. As I'm feeling more and more pressure to advance my life and build some sought after skills that I hadn't the chance to obtain the resources to properly approach when I was more "youthful" (not that I personally really feel old or anything) I'm hoping to springboard off of all the numerous instructional videos and documents, video essays and influencer content to tackle some creative and practical topics, practices, hobbies and studies.
If you like art and animation, especially if they entail big snarly lewdly proportioned werewolves I'd love to get in touch with you!
But as well if you have interests in car ownership, broad computer sciences (networking, hardware, software, programming), game development, among many other enthusiast fields, common or niche I would still love the chance to talk!
I'll have to also make the effort to reach out as well, it's a two way street after all.
While I do check here frequently and am reachable here, I'm mostly on Bluesky, Discord (contact me for my username), Stoat and Matrix (both as attempts to find alternatives to Discord), and a couple others I do see value in but haven't had the energy to keep up with (love you Mastodon but your platform is frustrating for me to use). But still looking for other solid platforms and active communities.
Will post and commission art when I can! Love seeing you creative weirdos around. Keep enjoying life and engaging in things with your whole heart

FA+

Also great to see that you eager to get more engaged with the community! My big difficulty is finding the time and keeping myself dedicated to making connections & keeping them going - but seeing you make the decision to get more engaged even after all this time is very motivating :3
Just gotta make sure you have the time to communicate and keep up with individuals, otherwise having a caring and organized group chat or community would be fantastic. And if that isn't really a thing ATM I've definitely been considering spearheading it myself. With all the different chat systems and protocols out there.
In-person is another thing for sure, that I hope to warm up to and have more courage to try to meet people in person, again
