Hey everyone, if you've browsed my page at any point in the last few months, you may have noticed I haven't uploaded anything in awhile 😅 Honestly, what happened was I wanted to branch out more art wise from what I normally draw here (which is shortstack, super thicc Louie lol) and have been practicing trying to take on more realistic anatomy along with different fandoms. At the point of the last piece I did with Louie and Alph, I was kinda comfortable with my art and thought it was going decently well, but I guess I just craved some diversity 🥲
Well, that turned out to be a massive mistake because I guess trying to learn actual anatomy completely unraveled whatever knowledge of art I ever had because now I can't draw shit? Not that I could before, but like Jesus Christ my art has just gotten horrible since then - to the point where I haven't made anything worth finishing or showing off in almost a year 💔 My motivation for drawing is at an all time low and I don't really see it improving any time soon ❤️🩹 I tried to set a goal for myself New Years 2024 - that I would finish and upload something, once a month. Just do the best I can and put something out there ;; But now? I don't know... Sorry if this came off as venty, but I'm just trying to convey why there's been literally nothing lately 🤧
I do get a lot of commissions, so maybe I'll start uploading them here? A lot of them don't get uploaded by the OG artists and when I upload them, it's usually just to R34xxx ;; I dunno, sorry again for how abrupt this is lol 🥲 Hope you're all doing well out there! 👋

I had to basically re-learn my art, re-find my style... it took making a bunch of new OCs to do that. (Velarys, cough cough) This is the first year I've actually felt confident in my work in a LONG time... I've been there and done that.
Aside from that, I think branching out, drawing new things, and experimenting would be PHENOMENAL for you! Your work is so cool, I'd love to see you draw other fandoms or your own OCs more for sure.... Also finding inspo always helps.
For me it's the work of Gerald Scarfe and H.R. Giger... two of my favorite artists of all time. I think you'd do well to look at Scarfe's art because it's EXTREMELY loose and expressive, similar to what you do.

You're right though - I am kinda... I dunno I don't wanna say scared to try new things lol but it is grossly intimidating IG ;_; Kinda toony realism I think is what I want the end goal of my stuff to be after focusing on just toony stuff for so long, but God is it taking me way longer than it should to remember the basic fundamentals of art when I'm actually putting together a piece 😭
Also Scarfe's stuff looks really nice and flowey! Super close to what I'm wanting to do, just a little less caricature-y maybe ;u; Bakshi's always been my biggest art inspiration, maybe I should go back and study some of his more realistic-ish pieces again some time ;;
Also also tysm honestly for the pep talk it generally means a lot 🤧 Hopefully I'll find my way again ;; And as a counter, please keep your stuff up too! I love seeing whatever new stuff you put out they always have this nice feel and aesthetic and your world and characters make me happy lol 😭
