For those US citizens tired of credit card companies trying to tell you how to spend your money, I urge you to hit that link below and let your voice be heard. This is important. Create your own posts and tell everyone you know. Please spread this far and wide.
__PLEASE READ__
"Primarily, our U.S.A members, the Federal Reserve (the body that regulates money and banks), is holding public comments for a new regulation
"Prohibition on Use of Reputation Risk or Other Supervisory Tools to Encourage or Compel Banking Organizations to Engage in Politicized or Unlawful Discrimination"
or in normal English
"Tell banks and payment processors that they can only stop people from doing a transaction if its illegal or "high risk."
That last part will be abused, but it would make it harder for PayPal, Mastercard, Visa, and any other bank/payment processor.
You can make your support for this bill known through the link below. It can be posted anonymously, but the comment will be made publicly available.
Please only comment if you're a citizen; they get testy about that."

It's almost impossible to deal with the anti-porn debanking through direct legislation in the US because the first amendment has been interpreted such that the government is forbidden to compel a company to work with another party, unless the basis for the refusal is discrimination against a protected class.
Breaking up the payment processor's market power via antitrust would be a much more effective path to take. Then an adult-friendly payment processor could come ni and be like "yeah I'll process your payments, no problem"
As for your suggestion, while that in of itself might perhaps be a good way of doing it, it aint likely to happen until 2029 at earliest (and even THEN might not) plus there are payment processors for NSFW stuff... but they are higher risk and have things other folks at this point also hate (be it age verification or higher fees)
I wager most folks are at least somewhat aware that at the moment, there's not much people can do to fight it, but they're looking for whatever way they can. This for many feels like something that can be done now, even if there is the very simple fact that given the inclinations of the folks we're lodging these complaints with that they could ignore it or simply say "Yeah no its not meant to protect YOU folks."
