If it isn't too much to ask, would you consider Bob Wire from King (2003)? One of my absolute favorite obscure cartoon villains with a bizarre design (fat slug-man constructed out of rusty barbed wire). The way he's drawn might be a bit of a headache though, so I understand if you decline of course. Thank you for considering.

I want to recommend one very obscure one; The Destroyer and Eater of Worlds from an 80s Doctor Who episode called Battlefield. 80s Doctor Who gets a bad rep, but it is surprisingly good.

Yes he is on the very cusp of the 90s. Sadly Doctor Who never saw the 90s on TV, he was one of the very last villains before the series was cut down just as it was recovering. :O Truly a tragedy. And yet even in its dying days it shows far more energy than any of Disney's offerings.

Can't watch anything from Disney, made after Princess and the frog, they've started making such 3d slop content x) Darkwolf is hunky, but he is a human! i will consider monsters / creatures / aliens / anthro characters, but not humans. I'm thinking to add some creature feature ones, like the Cellar Dweller or werewolf from Waxwork. But those might look out of place, being too brutal and dull in color.

No humans, got it. Sorry I need to remember that not everyone is so neutral on humans as me. I'm fine with them and monstery characters done well.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses their traditional animated movies. Not that 3D movies aren't always bad, but they've recently become too samey. One flesh golem looks like another.

Been wracking my brains for more 80s monster dads, but at the moment I'm coming up with nothing else. :O

I am neutral towards humans, but i've never done those since university, so i'm not sure how that might turn out. I might try out after this series to do some humans / orcs or hominids. Or even in this series i might do Harry from Harry and Hendersons.

I have thought of another cool 80s Doctor Who monster; The Magma Beast from The Caves of Androzani, which sits comfortably in the year 1984 and has some neat miniatures.

The 70s and 80s eras are usually more creative, if held back by their budgets. Quality wise the 70s is the most stable...mostly. 80s Who is an odd mix and match. But I always admire ambition which fails over no ambition.

Thinking of more 80s Doctor Who hunks (autism showing), I would recommend the Terileptils from The Visitation, The Garm from Terminus (aka friendly wolf doctor) and maybe the Mara for scary snake dad.

In this case it might turn out as Doctor who series, not 1980s in general x) I would't overuse that much some media, like, i've even decided not to do Rocksteady and Bebop or Splinter, since i've done Leatherhead.

That's fair. Been struggling to think of other undersued 80s stuff but my brain is kind of flat at the moment. I'm sure if I do some digging there will be oddities from outside the US and UK.

For added variety there are the Dinosaucers characters. Which have a wide varity to pick from. Its often obscured by its big cousin Extreme dinosaurs (but not by much)

Haven't watched Dinosaucers, but i like their villains ) Might do the Rex one. Allo is nice and paternal, but he's a bit bland and sad beige color.

Oh I just had a brain spark; the Kraken from Clash of The Titans (the original one where its all colourful and not all grey and dreary). They even gave it abs.

Maybe Danger Mouse also. Its popular in the UK and countries with British connections, but may be obscure elsewhere.

Kraken is nice, it feels very 1950s tho. Can do both.

Or any of the dudes in the band, honestly -- they're all pretty DILFy tbh. Fatz or Billy would be really fun to see in your style too! Beach Bear and Duke are the other main guys. There's also Uncle Klunk, who is intended to be a human but has a grotesque enough design that he could work. He's a bit freaky! I always read him as a bit more simian than human, visually.

Heck yeah, Fatz! He's the favorite of the band's creator Aaron Fechter! It's really hard for me to pick a favorite character but Fatz is a strong contender :D He's very cool!

Well, i can imagine a man with ginger hair and big nose having a big schlong, but Klunk looks kinda off. His bearded version is nicer, tho, less menacing.

I'm gonna suggest Robbie Sinclair from Dinosaurs! I know it's technically 1991, but if we're being real, it's basically still late-80s in style and aesthetic. Plus I feel like the Jim Henson aesthetic would fit like a glove with your art style!!
