People drawing the Pokemon 30th anniversary fanarts

I'm realising how much I've drifted away from the franchise in recent times. That I'll know many fanartists of it, but have honestly totally lost track since the 3DS era.
I guess my relationship with it all is what I have adopted as part of myself, but not as any whims to do with the wider franchise. It's kind of isolating, but, as is often repeated for this sort of situation, "You are not the target demographic anymore".
It's complicated.
I had nothing planned to post tomorrow. Maybe something later in the year. All the art I've been drawing privately outside of art pack work and commissions hasn't been Pokemon stuff.
I'll be named Flygon til the day I die though, hahaha.

I'm not even gonna start on that damn Typhlosion fiasco cuz I felt myself die on the inside when that was happening with me having Typhlosion OCs but that certainly didn't help either.
Back on topic though, it doesn't make sense to be tied to one thing or IP or whatever. Feelings and tastes change, better ideas form and blah blah blah, insert something more profound here.
I don't mind being a fan of what the franchise was, but I know I'll become that person that's the modern equivalent of someone that preferred the original Star Trek series over The Next Generation (and never bothered seeing much of TNG).
Personally I feel the newer games have gotten too hand-holdy and gimmicky but as you've said I'm not the target demographic anymore. I still draw fanart since the series holds a special place for me but it's not something I actively engage with nowadays. Not sure if I'd do any anniversary art though, still have some commissions to get through myself haha
I admit I've been thinking a lot about the franchise's origins a lot lately, partly because I've been in sporadic watch parties of people watching old cartoons. The sheer amount of Tobor the 8th Man in Gen1 is something I never realised until I watched that darn show hahaha.
It feels like around Gen5-6 they went to completely shed all those 50s-70s pulp roots.
Whereas Gen5 handled that surprisingly well (even if I didn't like it at the time), Gen6 and on...
I've gone on a big unrelated ramble. There has been an immense amount of things on my mind lately. Throughout my entire life I've gone to study the etymology of the media I watched, and the reasons why are too complicated to discuss in a mere journal comment.
