High internet instability

General
Verizon's merger with Frontier completed on Jan 20th. They are consolidating the new customers and equipment. That means updating a lot of software on their end.
However I am still on DSL. Their systems label it as a legacy service. Its being disrupted a lot by these activities. Used to be once every couple of days since early January. Today it became three times in an 11 hour period. Three "wireframe globes of doom".
I told the family after the first disruption today that looking at another ISP would be prudent right now. After the second one, my nerves got a bit frayed and my old man told me switching service carriers wasn't going to fix it (and I said it isn't a magic bullet, it will just hopefully be more stable). And the third one had me going "oh come the frick on!"
So my current activities involve paying off any remaining balances with artists I had payment plans with, and I am considering cutting my Patreon subs down until I'm just a free member. And I might have to do the same for my Nintendo Switch Online sub, Pokemon Home sub, and even Discord.
Touching grass won't make my nerves settle. I'm just trying to triage what I can and consider my options going forward. My lack of a smart phone and thus mobile internet is not helping matters.
