I'M ALSO ON "ROOT" Chat ^^ (Which works very similar to Discord)
sorma00 is my username, feel free to reach me out :)

You can get Root chat right here:
PC: https://www.rootapp.com/
Mobile: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rootapp.mobile&hl=it
Also, my buddy scarletamethyst-r made a list of all changes he notices between Root and Discord:
NEGATIVES:
- Root only supports letters, numbers, spaces (communties), apostrophes (communties), and hyphens (channels). This makes it impossible to use characters used in other languages like French, and makes it impossible to have a community or channel named "Pokémon". You also can't include emojis either.
- There doesn't seem to be character limitations.
- File sizes are 100 MB which is more than the default 10 MB although less than the 500 MB Nitro offers.
- Images are rendered in a row rather than a grid similar to how Discord used to render images.
- Videos don't seem to allow downloads, but you can download images and audio files.
- Embeds aren't supported.
- No spoiler option, images can't be marked as spoilers.
- No NSFW settings (although you could prefix NSFW). No idea if they are supported same as Discord.
- No role icons or banners.
- Streaming is capped at 720p 30fps.
- Threads aren't included.
- No automod.
- No custom emojis or stickers.
POSITIVE:
+ Channels can have icons.
+ Channels can have capital letters.
+ Descriptions are shown below the channel.
+ `@everyone` role's color can be changed.
+ No subscription.
