So, I feel bad because I spanked both of my dogs once on the butt, not too hard, but firm, because they were misbehaving. My dog seems fine, she looked sad for like half a minute after but now she is laying down on the couch with me, as is the other on I spanked. I generally try to use positive reinforcement as a training technique, but I had no other option than to spank them this time. I gave them a toy, I clapped to get their attention and they ignored me, and I held them each a couple times to try and get them to calm down and stop roughhousing so loud and aggressively. It was after this that I spanked them.

Anyways, does this mean I’m a bad dog parent?
