It looks like I didn't actually say anything here, because the posts I'd found were linked to my inkbunny account, so I just said something there and expected people to like-- Pay Attention?? And abide by my wishes? But apparently that was too much to ask? So just reflecting here now, as I'm waiting on a takedown request to be actioned upon. Uhh....
Don't repost my artwork to imageboards and similar anonymous sharing sites without my permission. This includes e621!
Like, if you ask me and I say yes, then that would be one thing. But people don't bother asking. They just do it.
Like, if it's something you commissioned from me and you're sharing it in your own gallery or discord servers or something-- that's fine I guess? I'm usually okay with people reposting things they got from me on their own accounts and such, especially since I can normally trust them to link back to me as the source. What I'm talking about here is more literally my own non-commissioned art just being reposted by randos. I don't like that. I mean, they were at least linking back to the source, so that's nice to see at least? But I just-- no.
I want to be in control of my artwork and where it is displayed. I want to be able to see (and be notified) when there are likes and comments on something I posted, because that makes me happy-- and if it's being done by a third party without my knowledge then I'm completely in the dark to all of that. I also want to be able to ensure descriptions and FUCKING TAGGING is correct!! I get really really frustrated when I see posts like this and the person uploading my work hasn't included character names or contexts or owner of the character if it's not mine or like-- I dunno, with the AI Chatbot a few months back, where they also misgendered the character and stripped them of their identity?? None of that should be happening! And wouldn't if I was posting it myself, because I can control the metadata.
Fucking-- gawd-- I just... I appreciate that people like my stuff enough to want to share it, but just link your friends to my galleries then?? This isn't difficult. Aaarrggghhhh.... I shouldn't have to do this. >.<;;
