But the new site sucks.

I agree. I give it MAYBE a 3.5 out of 10. Definitely missing the old site, but I'll still give this new one a chance.

The problem is people are using the new site despite hating it so the staff have zero reason to put it right. They are banning people who speak out and removing negative comments. As long as Sofurry is the only story site in the fandom they can make the site as bad as they want because people will still use it. I used google to check SF's stats and it says SFX only has about 3000 people using the site next to SF 2.0 which got 400 thousand uses at it's hight. It says the site is getting less than half the traffic it used to get on the old site even at it's lowest point. Google says it is more of an archive now than an active site. Most people read the historical content not the new stuff so posting isn't even worth it. Toumal will not fix the site as long people still use it as he was told for years people hated the new site yet still pushed it. If enough people left they would be forced to scrap SFX.

I asked google and it says while the site got 3000 users on the 12th of last month the site only gets 2000 to 2500 daily users now. The old site normally got 10000 people a day. Sofurry clearly doesn't get the traffic it used to as the new site is so hated. 2nd February 2025 the SF 2.0 site got 350 - 400 uploads. 2nd February 2026 SFX only got 100 - 150 uploads. To me the site is dying as even after countless warnings that SFX would never be accepted Toumal and the others ignored every single warning and pressed on. Anything you upload there won't get a fraction of the attention it will get on FA, IB, DA and weasyl. Is it even worth maintaining an account there as the site owner clearly doesn't care what the people who use the site think? Now the novelty is wearing off people just aren't using SFX. Rather then put SF 2.0 back they would sooner crash and burn while making excuses the old site was unsafe or Sofurry is a labour of love so you can't complain. The staff know as they aren't posting the stats anymore. Notice all we heard was how many people came online for the 12th and they are making changes. They had years to fix this yet didn't. I think Toumal should resign as he clearly isn't fit to run that site anymore.

Thank you for this information. It is readily obvious that you are very impassioned over your dislike of the new site; you have made that evident, and I can say with a fair amount of certainty that I agree.

I, in fact, do not disagree with you on most of your points, as they are well thought-out and appear to be well-researched. I wish you luck on your campaign against the new SoFurry site, and I hope you are successful, as I would prefer the old site back in every single way possible; there is nothing I like about the new site that I've seen.

I'll continue to use it though, in hopes that I will become more familiar with it and that it will meet my needs. I'm not interested in learning another site as FA and SF are where I've posted my work for about 2 decades-- I've tried Weasyl and IB but they didn't stick. Ultimately, if I cannot find a use for SF, then I am far more likely to just stop posting altogether since FA is a site I've all but abandoned except out of habit. I've enjoyed contributing to the furry fandom, but it is not my identity, it's not my central focus, and I am able to walk away. I commend those of you within the fandom who are seeking positive change; the vast majority of the change I've seen over 20 years has not been positive.
