Reminds me of one of the ... I'm assuming assistant managers ... at a Burger King I frequent. When he is manning the register, he is completely single-tasking. He takes the customer's order, then he waits until the order is complete and delivers it, THEN he takes the next customer's order. That guy can make picking up an online order that is ready and waiting under the warming lamps take 15-20 minutes. I repeat, the order has been placed ahead of time, the order is complete and waiting when I walk in, but there is STILL a 15-20 minute delay before he will be able to process "Picking up an online order for Eric Adler." When I see him at the register, I pray to Cthuhlu that one of the regular register workers is running orders to the drive-thru window. They all know my by name, and once they spot me, or rather, my iconic hat ("Is a Pratchett really a Pratchett without his hat?") they can grab my pre-bagged order, grab a cup for me, and send my on my way.

(By the way, I could only stand to watch the first 47 seconds of that before hitting the emergency eject button and dangle from the silks.)

That sounds like all the workers at the McDonald’s here in the city we live at 🤣 taking their sweet ever loving time!
