Hey everyone!
Starlight Prancer here and I have been a part of the furry community for a while now. Mostly in secret since 2007 and more openly a year ago. I had another count where I mostly just lurked and didn't interact much. I did attempt to reach out to find my crew, but I chickened out. I even uploaded some terrible art and was lovingly given an art critique I didn't ask for that sent 17-year-old me into a depression for a bit. Looking back, I wish I had taken that artists advice and maybe I would be a better artist by now. There's still time. I'm only 35 after all.
I'm hoping this time I can make more friends and build community.
I still can't draw for shit, but I want to use my love of writing and research within the community. Specifically, my interests in anthro characters in Children's literature and media. I know some people try to argue that that sort of thing is not furry media (which I personally think is bizarre), but I shall fight for them!
Now that I have rambled (and thank you for reading this far), here are some of my furry goals and expectations for the new year:
1) More friends! I don't have a preference. I would love more equine friends. I've recently become more into horses due to a certain anime & phone game. Also, more unicorn pals would be so freaking sweet!
2) Collaboration. I am starting to write more, and I am hoping to commission artist to help bring my visions to life. Eventually want to dive into the world of comics & graphic novels.
3) Attend more cons. I will be attending BeWhiskered in April, and I am so excited for it!
4) Write! So much I want to write.
5) Research! There are a lot of cool stories that I have come across with anthro characters that I feel like do not get a lot of attention. I was inspired by the queen of awesomeness herself
Aurelina ! I may even do a youtube channel. Maybe. I have a baby Unidragon to take care of so that may be challenging.
Ok, I think that's it.
Happy New Year!
