Fur versions for dragon stories

So just a quick question for any who care. I'm planning to do another entry in my "Draconic ..." series of dragoness stories, and wondered if people like there being fur and none-fur versions for them, or if it doesn't matter.
The next entry necessitates that, either way, the male part of the paring be none-human, and in a none-fur version they'd be a classic fantasy race.
Follow on question, which of the following fur species would you like the male lead to be:
1) Ferret
2) Stoat
3) Dormouse
4) Rat
5) Fennec
6) Highland Terrier
That may have given a clue as to why a fantasy race is needed.
