TLDR yes, I own Ferragon and Dullahinny now. i've been busy with work on other stuff after the sale and the deletion of smooshkin's discord servers, and i've not had time for either just yet.
still deciding on how to host their lore, where to host their "hubs" because i hate toyhouse, and I've not really felt a need to regularly use furaffinity. the quickest place to find me off-site atm is my commission discord which is where I will likely also share news, WIPs, and other stuff relating to both my own art and these species. Find that here.
which is to say that, if you happen to have watched me in overflow from his persona's deletion, I'm not a furry and I don't intend to make Ferragon or Dullahinny into funny little whimsical furry species. i love dead dove, i love grimdark, and both species are near and dear to me. I'm interested in preserving narrative, lore, and dignity with both.
I also am offering multiple characters up for swap or resale with designs or art from smooshkin. if you want to take a look, they are hosted on the bulletin link above (and if you don't have a toyhouse account and want to see, I can give you a code for free).

Whatever works best for you. There's no need to "rush" anything if you don't have the time today, tomorrow, or the next couple of months.
it's very reassuring to hear otherwise
The reason I've decided upon regarding that is because the internet gives exposure, condensing that 15 minutes of fame into 15 seconds.
Good, genuine, well crafted work takes time to do. My writing is the same, it may take me five months to write like four pages, but my own personal standards are maintained and I don't feel like I only produce easy to shat out garbage just for the sake of being relevant.
Not to call anyone out, but I'll never pay myself in front of any artist's comm list just for the sake of my work. I'd rather let things simmer and find the right artist/mental image that will match my vision perfectly, instead of rushing the process in the name of fame and visibility. That kind of thing sickens me.
You bring up great points, its so refreshing to see and i completely agree w this. 100% rushing things loses the soul and quality that they'd otherwise have, especially for story and worldbuilding i think
The most egregious display of egotistical writing I've ever seen is making a commission about the artist's personal interests, wants, and likes instead of the commissioner's. I mean, it's fine to have your own OC be an integral part of the narrative you're creating, but when your client's OC is portrayed as a supporting role, instead being part of the main cast, that's where I get all up the walls and swipe bared claws!
I notice that the older I am, the more bitchy I get about certain things. ^^;
2000% the case for sloppy, inconsistent narration and heavy usage of plot armor for a shallow reason that doesn't affect the plot beyond what the writer decides. Even when it violates the basic in-universe rules that every other character has to obey and cannot, under no circumstance ignore or escape from. Seeing that fills me with so much rage! RAAAAH! I feel like I could turn into an IRL Hulk(®©™ to&by Marvel) because of how bad it gets under my skin.
I actually have had that happen to myself in RP a few times and it is extremely awkward lmao I can't imagine how frustrating that would be as someone commissioning a writing piece.
marvel is the peak of the most banal and bland power of friendship plot armour shit out there so it's a very relevant comparison LOL but in general i agree. when a story starts to feel unnatural or contrived to be a certain way i almost always checkout. I would say it can even secondhandedly be a little embarrassing to read
the complete lack of staff and moderation, the lack of changes in features after 10 years (I joined about 10 years ago and the site has been pretty much completely unchanged since then, only TLQ to keep the site up), the sheer amount of anti-porn and pro-censorship and anti-discomfort minors and unstable young adults sticking their noses where they're not wanted, the unhinged forums full of various social politics, i could go on honestly lol
It is not an environment that's friendly for adult creatives, especially those trying to foster community spaces or like species. too many deranged people and absolutely zero moderation. with the 10 years I spent on premium, I basically watched it get shit down the drain by the owner to continue keeping TH as a thriving repository for 500mb kids' drawings. I've also heard deranged stories about witch hunts and unrightful bans for content literally allowed in the TOS and other dumb shit that never got overturned, people whose businesses got ruined for no reason, etc
TLDR it's just not a place that synergises with me anymore for many moderation-related reasons
even using characters for storage, if you aren't holding them privately there's always the non-zero chance that some nutcase will come and cause a problem
I'm sorry for sounding so negative, but having the ability to remain detached from it all is a must just to survive online. There's always someone who'll get offended, be greedy, vicious, discriminating, etc. Again, sorry for the negativity.
Have a big warm hug instead! 🫂
nah you're good, in context it means mostly that I cannot really post my dead dove content or OCs without needing to hide them and when there's an omnipresent pressure in such an obnoxious way, I lose love for the site real fast. Especially the way TH is so unmoderated. because people will take advantage of that and be insanely deranged about it
Sorry to hear you've had a bad experience with TH by the way. You're a very skilled artist and other people should consider keeping their opinions about what you do with that to themselves 🤣
Thankfully I haven't personally experienced it but I've known and seen a lot of people who have and the site just feels like it's in an extremely slow death spiral ATM. I hope it's not, but after 10 years of the same shit it's not looking good
Also thank u so much lol I do wish people were not such clowns about strangers online truly
