It doesn't help that the people who make these crappy alterations or products of these IPs are allowed to attack the customers and not be punished. If you were the owner of an IP, you paid this person to make something, that person makes a half ass and just downright insulting garbage whatever you blew millions of dollars for. You need customers to buy this product even though its absolute crap that nobody is gonna wanna buy, and the very person who you hired and put you in this situation is going around attacking possible customers telling them to not buy the product you need them to buy that you waisted millions for this self centered prick to produce a very garbage product.

Normally it used to be when someone does that shit they were fired on the spot. Not anymore, now and days they're praised and celebrated for attacking the fans and customers and no one is allowed to critique or tell them otherwise.

I don't know how or where or even when this type of behavior all of a sudden became normalizer and such. Because now the jackasses who have no business or skills or even desire to make products of popular IPs are allowed to shit as much as they want in making utter crap products, attack and even demonize the entire fan base call them every name in the book, brag that its canon and people are to accept it, and no one is allowed to critique them and their bosses don't have the balls or even spine to punish them or fire them for their actions, going as far as to support and stand up for them.

Seriously how did things get that way and is there anyway to turn it back around?

Sometimes I entertain the idea to find out where they shop or eat, work there and insult them, upcharge them for the privilege to be insulted and then ask them why they don't come back.

That' a good recipe to loose fans.
In my case, I can't be a toxic fan, because I'm not a fan of so many franchises any more.
I have become a potential customer that has to be convinced to buy every single product.
A sceptical potential customer.

It sad these days that genuine passionate criticism from fans is written off as toxic. Not that there aren't any grifters about doing said behavior but when the people running the projects focus solely on those people it drowns out the actual fans.
