I like the previous design better because it showed the animal from the transformation story and it was a good indication of the cover of the story.
The current design is very simple, that's all.

I'm not sure what the fuck else people should expect. A fully illustrated cover or moment from your story for each new entry?

Nobody’s complaining or anything, I’m just looking for what stands out more. Gotta corrupt a larger portion of the populace.

The current thumbnails allow for fast visual identification of the TFed animal... and not much more. I use thumbnails to glean information about the story before clicking it. Information that would help me is kinks and connected stories. Thumbnails and submission title reduce the friction of having to click through to view the tags and scroll down to view the full description.

One tool FA has is gallery folders and I think you could group stories that into folders to aid new readers. One example is the new story https://www.furaffinity.net/view/56092298/. I clicked it at first because of the Smilodon picture which caught my eye, but I didn't realize it was a part of the Lateral Move world until I started reading it and identified familiar characters.

I think the fact that you clicked it because of the thumbnail drawing your eye lends credence to the majority of people that seemed to like the thumbnails the way they are now. You clicked it and that's all part of my master plan to get you to click on the thumbnail.

The problem with listing kinks is that either the text is too small or it's just too generic. I don't really venture into specific fetish niches (I think), so my "kink tags" on the thumbnail just end up being pretty meaningless ("Boobs R Here," "People Fuck," etc.).

I've thought about using folders, but grouping stories into ongoing universes just seems like a bad idea all around. Sequels get nowhere near the viewership as originals, and I fear that having half my stories be in a folder relating to that world will turn viewers off of reading. Even if they don't have to read twelve stories to make sense out of a new one, I think people will assume the opposite is true if they're grouped in some way.

What was the original design like? I want to know before I make a decision.

Actually, original design was more-or-less what it is now. I switched over to a simpler background with more descriptive text like a lot of people use, but most readers (and me) felt it didn't catch the eye enough. I think it looked better if someone was just looking at my gallery, but that the older ones (and the ones I'm using now) stood out more while searching.

Honestly, I feel like a lot of times when authors use "tags" on their thumbnails it just makes me want to skip over them without giving the story a chance. If I see a tag I'm not interested in, I just move along, and I'm guessing a lot of other people do too. I dunno, but welcome any outside feedback.

Maybe use the originals then.
