I'm just a cis white dude in the furry fandom not producing art atm. I try to leave as many positive comments, and engage in discussions about things with other furries and artists as I can on social media and other sites. , but it seems like I've nothing to offer as very few msgs are initiated back by others.

Many times I'm met with hostility when I offer to help with my experience with life, developing skills, health etc. from being older. Am I a bad person? Someone that doesn't warrant interaction? Is my presence here simply vacuous? Do I not belong in the fandom because I'm too normal and/or too old?

Anyway I'm thinking about leaving the fandom because it only engenders envy and loneliness rather than a sense of belonging and closeness.
