Considering my role in the Fandom

I just wanted to say that after the revelation yesterday that one of my former close friends, Phantomfoxforce aka Eric4372 is a racist Culturally Appropiating douchebag who squats on peoples faces and kicks people in the ass literally. I haven't been right, I haven't got the will to play Daytona USA 2 as his Fursona has spoiled that game for me, and here's where it gets worse, I am seriously considering my role in the Furry Fandom, I'm not sure whether to leave or not but I'm not sure if I can, I think it's hardwired into me that I'm a furry.
Ever since the revelations about Phantom came to light, I remembered, the times that we spoke to each other, the time I read his "Musings of a Sega Racing Fan" blog, and sharing two passions and opinions of him, when I learned the true person he was, I have since cut ties with him and have never felt so personally betrayed in my whole life.
I see it as a personal betrayal because I enjoyed his opinions on the classic Sega Arcade Racing games of old, he came from a similar background as me, playing these Sega games and enjoying them in the exact same way I did. And he was once literally the ONLY OTHER furry who enjoyed the stuff I did.
His Fursona was based on the Phantom car from Daytona USA 2, but he has done something which I think is almost as abhorrent as Chris Chan's Sonichu or his Cherokian Clan. He made a Warbonnet, which only Native Americans can wear. The Warbonnet is sacred to native americans and I don't know why he made his Fursona like this. It has tainted Daytona USA 2 for me for now and it may be a while before I play it again, Probably November 9 because that is when Yakuza with Sega Racing Classic 2, a remaster of Daytona USA 2 is coming out.
I remember reading a post from someone who hates me, DetectiveRJ, and she said that "No matter how niche your fandom is, there will always be a village idiot in it" I used to be the village idiot of the Farthing Wood Fandom, but now I've learned from my mistakes and have decided not to engage with RJ again. Phantom is the village idiot of the Daytona USA and Classic Sega Racing Fandom in my opinion, and I'm not sure if he will learn from his mistakes, people hate him enough that he probably won't.
But as one of RJ's friends said, "The Farthing Wood Fandom is small but cursed" and I think it's the same with the Daytona fandom as Phantom is living proof of that.
I just don't know what to do, because as for the Furry Fandom as a whole, there are a lot of idiots in it, I'm glad I'm never going to a convention because there are too many idiots at the conventions. Including that guy Manedwolfy, who did disgusting stuff to a Pizza, and also there are literally people in the fandom who abuse animals. It's disgusting, I can't enjoy the things I love because there are idiots in it.
I don't know whether to leave or not, but I Think Phantom should be ashamed of himself, I know he has ADHD, but that's no excuse for his behaviour.
I just don't know what to do anymore.

I didn’t get sexual gratification with the teabag, but I already apologized for it because I know it made a lot of people uncomfortable.
I didn’t yell on the elevators.
I had no ill will or malice against Native Americans.
I have not sexually assaulted anyone.
This debacle is literally a result of a witch hunt where furries are looking for (and fabricating) the absolutely worst things I’ve done to separate me from the community and my friends. Ex. “I was fursuiting 3 years when I bumped into someone, it’s NARCISSISM.” It’s crap.
If you believe I’m this awful person then fine. But don’t drink the koolaid like so many furs already have, please.
And Chris(tine)-Chan is completely irrelevant to the topic since they’ve got a litany of problems, and cultural appropriation is not even in the top 10 of offenses they’ve done.
