My First Furmeet!

Well, on friday I knew in my other side there would be a furmeet here in my city, that meet was posted on facebook some time ago and somehow I just knew about it this friday in my SFW 'official' spanish lang Twitter. I tried to decide if I should go or not, I'm very undecisive so I let it pass and I forgot it until sunday in the morning. I had so many home chores and when finally I finish them I said "why not?" and I went there. I usually preffer staying home, pandemic or not.
SO I took Roody for a ride.
I'm not so good as telling my stuffs so let's separete them and synthetisize them
The bad things:
* I was late, and as the sun hit with strengt in the park where it was, and many of the furballs took off their suits so I didn't see all the fursuiters.
* I'm not social, to make friends costs me A LOT. So I just stayed there in the shadows for some time until I decided to ask for photos, I felt like a predator.
* My head fursuit deformed because I packed it bad, hehe. It is a little troublesome. If I want to be "Roody" more frequently I have to fix it soon.
* let's say I am not as open as I thought but I blame to my lack of social skills and my social anxiety. Once I improve the social part of me I will enjoy my furry side tottally
The good Things:
> I took some photos with some friendly fursuiters, I felt great!
> I supperated my shame with my homemade fursuit, I took some selfies using it and even one of the fursuiters took me a photo too.
> If I count it from the moment I remembered the event, well, it improved my action response and I could count it as a quick decision! hooray for me XD
> despite the heat and the fact I barely could se from inside the fursuit head, it was so fun. I had a great time!
> two or three fursuiters had lots of energy and maybe they have coolers inside their suits, the thing is they danced sometimes, and they were very entertaining to see.
the weird things:
- A couple of lovers were giving a walk to their dog, they saw me wearing the mask and then I removed it because I needed a little thing people love, air!, they laugh a little 'cause I looked older than the other's and they realized I was a furry too. I think they were expecting me to do something with my mask on but well, I don't understand people sometimes
- I saw 5 "pups" in the meet, I took a photo with one of them, a funny guy, I wanted to talk with him but,... you know... I'm not social, very shy. I'm a little older and honestly I was worried because at least 3 of them looked to young, I thought to my self "are they aware of what they are doing?"
- in the furmeet 2 comisioners sold stickers of characters with copyright, I bought an incineroar, I like that pokemon. did they had a licence? hehe I think they don't...
My experience wasn't as epic as I expected; althought I would repeat it definitely, maybe I'll give another step and I'll try to talk to another furball and say: "I'm Roody, I have a twitter profile I barely touch and a Furaffinity and a sofurry page"

Now me, I'm old! (See above.) LOL
I dont know your age but most furries are male between 15 and 25 and furry is just a fad that they go through. I did not find furry until I was well into middle age and that was two decades ago.
I was as shy as hell when I was younger and to top that off I am autistic. I don't make friends easy. My advice is to find a few furs that you are comfortable with and just go from there.
I don't know If I'm autistic too, I haven't been diagnosed but making friends and that kind of things are a little hard to me, sometimes because I'm shy, sometimes because I am not in a good mood.
