I've been working on going through pics from some of the older cons, and came across a shot of these two, who I happened to have a shot of in one of my AC 2001 flashback pics: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8972736/
Now that I was able to identify them, I decided to put this one up as well. It's always awesome to see the same fursuiters year after year. :)

*smiles* Not sure when I might get to posting any of those old AC shots up here on FA, but 2003 was one of the few early years that I've been able to upload to my online gallery:
Online Furry Convention Gallery
It was the first year that I had a digital camera, and I loved having been able to get as many pictures as I had, even if it was a small amount by today's standards. *laughs*
The earlier cons, I spent most of my time hanging out with friends and doing con events, so I didn't get as many pictures as I do now.

Nice selection - certainly a few suits there that I remember clearly from back then. That big dragon in particular seemed so impressive to a guy who'd never been to a con before.
It's interesting how there's a few early versions of suits that still exist today, such as Sharky or Super Jayhawk.
AC 03 was, as I said, my first con. I was using a Fuji Finepix point & shoot back then - a 2.1 MP model that almost seems prehistoric today. One of my chief memories is getting A LOT of orbs and noise in low light!
This was my selection:

As you can see, I didn't even take a third as many fursuit shots as you did ( the majority of my pics were of friends, posted elsewhere ).

Heh. The camera I had at that time was only 1.2 MP, and each card could only hold about 32 pictures, so I had 5 cards that I would have to swap out when one filled up, and I didn't have a laptop back then, so I had no way of downloading the pictures I took, and reuse the cards for new pics. Still better than buying film and having to pay for even the bad ones. *laughs*
You have some wonderful pics there, so nothing to feel bad about, especially when you consider how few fursuiters there were, compared to what you see now. <3
I know what you mean about low light issues. Not enough light at cons is the bane of my photo-taking. Heh.
The dragon was indeed quite awesome. I didn't know that was his first con. So many of the fursuiters really took pride in their fursuit, and often took the time to get fully into their characters with their movements and mannerisms. So much fun and good times. I really do miss AC being in Philly, even if there's no way it could support the size the con has grown to, regardless of the hotel still being there or not. :)

The thing I liked about AC being in Philly was that I could fly into JFK in New York on Wednesday, stay overnight in Manhattan and see some sights, then take the train ( a brisk 90 minute ride ) to Philadelphia on Thursday afternoon for the con. I did that for AC 03, 04 & 05. Good times.
