I will be color-correcting this image when I get home... I didn't realize how weird it looked when I uploaded it last night.
Fossil and I have known each other for three years now, as of December... and I still hadn't drawn a color picture of him, or of us together. I had this awesome plan to finish this image in time for Christmas... and I almost did. When I started drawing on this special board I had, the image just came out so nicely, and I was thrilled. It was all the way inked, and I had started to color it, when I realized that the ink was running terribly, and the color was blotchy. I didn't even stop to think that the illustration board might not work well with the markers... it was left over from a class with a teacher that I really liked, and we had only ever inked on it, I guess. Upset at the thought of ruining the image, I stopped working on it, and decided to photoshop it instead. It just wasn't coming out right, though. I ended up stashing it in my clipboard, and didn't pull it out again until yesterday, when I decided to just attack it head on with markers again... and this is the result.
I had to modify my usual methods in order to not ruin my markers, which is why it doesn't look as smooth as it might normally.
But yeah... my first color rendition of Fossil's live alt, Ronnie, who is a lot more like him in real life. The image is notable for containing so much black clothing, too XD

I'm annoyed that this doesn't look as good on screen as it does on the original. I think I might have to play with the scanned file when I get home, and see if I can make it look better. I was so tired last night when I scanned it, I guess I wasn't paying much attention x_x

You may not like parts of it, but as a whole it's totally wonderful! its an amazing look and feel.. and don;t see yourself short on this.
And after having met you both at AC07... I can see where your looks come through - VERY great!
And as for his personality... what can I say? He's more gracious in persona than he is as a bag-o-bones.
My deepest wished for many, MANY more years to come.

*nods* The little masked dude, before Fossil was really a character? yar. There's been a lot of development over the years, in terms of the concepts. Even then, there are places where lines blur between personalities ^^
That's why this is a separate character. In terms of the real person, it is a live Fossil, but in terms of characters, Fossil and Ronnie are very different, and aren't very related.

this image is gorgeous and after seeing you at ff, i can't get over how much your characters resemble you (or you. . .resemble them. . .yeah, you know what i mean.) even your writing looks polished and well-placed, and even though this isn't your normal way of working with markers its still just as appealing as your usual. ♥
