Reality, Its merely a dream.. try a new one
Gallows, Leo, and Posh all do something in the way of Virtual Reality, the purposes they use it for vary. Gallows uses it for training, Posh uses it for opening folks up, and Leo does it.. well he just does it
While the details vary, all of them use the same basic principles in how its done, if you have a good idea there is little reason to mess with it.
Gallows use is the most clear to explain, being a pragmatic and goal based person he has designed it for two rolls, to make money, and to work in training his new recruits that need a bit of coddling before being trusted out in the field. In making money it has a very large usage fee to the public(and large to his own workers), plus it is often used as a showpiece for the various TF services Gallows offers
The immersion starts by sitting the person down inside a harnessed suit and slowly depriving there senses one at a time, the harness then lifting so even weight seems to be removed, after waiting like this around ten minutes the senses start to turn on, and the “VR” begins
The VR methods used are very high quality, at the experimental level in technology, so overwhelming the person often looses touch with reality, forgetting that they are NOT in the reality. All five senses are engaged, pain is real and sometimes the safewords get changed after a person is put in..
The detail of the reality tends to shift to higher and higher detail as vorish encounters are engaged... but it is a subtle process... those swallowed and devoured inside the game are treated to a VERY realistic devouring before they scumb
The reality of course is crafted to the teachers own desires, stimulating the user's pleasure centers when they devour someone for example.. furthermore the various routines can be triggered by one of the observers. Effectively a player can chose one of a dozen or so “Games” to play, but a overseer can put spice into the world thats not been programed to happen naturally..(Spawn hungry dragon and so on),these can either be left to run on there own programing or manually controlled..
Coming “out” of the VR normally happens when someone dies in game, or after a suitable time period, (generally 24 hours), in all cases the person needs a hour or two to reconnect to reality, Oftentimes there are more long lasting psychological after effects.
One of the side effects of this game is it lets folks experience the joys of vore in “Safety” and allows them to enjoy things that are beyond there capabilities or two rare.. its not uncommon for a long waiting list for spots in the machines, even with sizable fee's. New recruits GENERALLY start with solo adventures, but once they've gotten the basics down the various units are merged into group games.... cooperative or competitive.. groups of friends often like to play together in such linked realities..
the “Person” a player is can either be realistic version of themselves(every player gets this scanned in on first use), or any number of other avatars to “Try out” These avatars often have varied abilities and are used as a trial taste of trying out a new shape before bargaining with the VR master for a real version
From an observers angle the VR gives folks an excellent groundwork for the coming real life activities, it also lets the observer experiment on the subjects reactions when the rules are twisted.... which happens often enough in RL..
Madness as the result of this game is constrained to an acceptable rate according to Both Leo and Gallows. The game IS highly addictive, so the maximum usage is strongly limited by any of the overseers. And as any addictive activity it can be used as a perk/reward for good behavior..
It has been known for someone inside the game world to be devoured on the outside.... Gallows spend a lot of time, money, and intellectual effort to make parts of the gear digestion resistant.
