It is always sad when we lose someone we know. I never knew the man personally, but I still grieve for the loss. He was a good man and friend to many. In a tight-knit community such as ours, the pain spreads far and quickly. We weep for his family, for his friends, and for losing the chance to meet and know an undoubtedly awesome individual.

Tim died while on duty as an EMT - a job as noble as any - to save people's lives. He died a hero.

I think the best way to honor his memory is to hug someone you love. Call up your parents or friends. Reconnect with someone you care about. Because in our lives we start to take tomorrow for granted, a tomorrow that some people won't live to see.
