There are the days I go all the way back. Old baroncoon art is some of the stuff that'll make you say "I wanna learn to draw like this guy", his ability to design tech - that would probably work in the real world - was/is impressive... and I'm saying that with an engineering degree under my belt. I learned things about firearms and aircraft they never teach even at university-level! Now he uses his powers for designing ergonomic weapons and airships for ponies, which is interesting, but I'd be equally interested in ergonomic design for velociraptors, sentient hyenas, puppeteers, or what have you.

Don't get me started on hating then liking then blah about Ponies again. :p

Should I care? MLP:FIM is itself a relaunch, you know. The entertainment world is more or less tacitly admitting it is out of original ideas. So then, why should I waste my imagination upon those plainly have none? Let Michael Bay and JJ Abrams perform Dueling Relaunches until Disney buys them both and makes things, as hard to believe as it might be, even worse. As long as theatre attendance is not mandatory and my TV has an Off switch, I'm good.

I'm not sure it means so much that the entertainment world has no new ideas as it means that certain entrenched interests have no new ideas. Samurai Jack was pretty original, so was Men in Black, ReBoot, Shrek and a whole lot of things (and I'll even forgive them their sequels). But corporations have a tendency to play it safe, dilute responsibility, make committee decisions and avoid as much thought about the produce itself as possible.

Very true. Some of the best Rifftrax are from movies that are actually good (the Lord of the Rings movies, for example.) I made that last post with tongue planted firmly in cheek.

I probably would watch MLP Build 2 exceptt I don't have access to cable and, thanks to the Miracle of Science, there are no longer any analog signals for me to pick up either. There's always YooToob, as people keep reminding me. But I hate YooToob and the consistant low quality of image and audio and won't watch anything there if I can help it.

I don't imagine I would be as carried away with the whole pony thing as so many people seem to be, though. I was immunized by the Powerpuff Girl craze.
