Back in the Vietnam era there were angry anti-war protesters to meet the troops that came home, calling them names, spitting on them, treating them like crap. That's a shame because almost all those soldiers never wanted to be there in the first place. They'd done things and seen things no person should ever have had to do or see, and they were finally home, and they were treated like scum. All for a war that had no point.

Today we have people willingly joining up to take part in a massive meat grinder where over a million civilians have died and dozens more die each day. There are no angry protesters, there are no slurs for an army if willing invaders. We're expected to admire or praise their service. So yeah, I guess my point of view has been "recognized". But when the fighting ends, who's going to be accountable for the body count?

Where'd you learn your Vietnam history, from Oliver Stone? I know more Marine Vietnam veterans than you ever will, and none of them had any regrets about their service - whether they were volunteers or draftees.

I admire your honesty though. I wish the "anti-war" Liberals who voted for Obama would admit to themselves that Obama's basically carrying on Bush's neo-con legacy of domestic spying, assassinations, and shadow wars... Just with a more charismatic, progressive flavor. It's okay to kill piles of brown people as long as we're Liberal on everything else, I guess!
