Nah, it's lovely once you get the hang of it - you can get tons of line variation in one stroke, as opposed to using micron, etc. and having to either change pens or go back and forth forever to build up thicker portions of the line. I heartily recommend trying it out to anyone - just go pick up a set of speedball holders and nibs and a container of higgins india ink, it's pretty cheap and well worth it!
