Tara does seem to be a rather angry filly. (Or is she a mare? Or maybe that's part of the problem?)

Does the name have any association with the plantation from "Gone With the Wind"?

She is what you might call "high-spirited." =) Her name is simply derived from the 'taur' in Centaur; no relation to Gone With the Wind or My Little Pony voice actors.
