Well, Mister 'Unknown Furret' got named finally. Team Zero's been mixed up a bit since I started working on them. Anyways, this is just me working out some ideas on paper. Some parts are still up for changing (like Vermillion's outfit), but at least I'm finally getting the crew down for the
pokecombatacademy .
Ferran the furret is going to be the new team leader for the 0%'s. Don't ask me why his ears are perked up like that. I just was trying something different, and for some reason, furrets look sort of like kangaroos when you do that. Weird. But anyways, Ferran's the sneaky guy in the group, and has a pair of Go-Goggles around his neck. He's also a sophomore instead of a junior like the rest of the Zeros. Original sketch of him can be found here http://www.furaffinity.net/view/967395/ .
Vermillion is the second in charge, and a fairly grumpy rattata. I'm still trying to figure out his outfit but he'll probably wear the single piece shades when all is said and done. Vermillion's not much for strategy and tends to leap in without figuring out what he's doing, so he gets himself in trouble far too easily.
Mal the farfetch'd is the ex-team leader of Team Zero Percent. While he's an expert fencer with his stick, earlier in the semester he suffered a bad ACL injury, and now uses his stick as a walking cane. Because of his ability to move is quite limited, he's relegated himself to the position of team coach and strategist. He can fight still, although he ends to be a sitting duck (pun totally intended) for being attacked. If that happens, all opponents are treated as having the No Guard ability and will hit him 100% of the time. He's not dodging, unless his target honestly can't see him, but even then, don't expect to miss him that much. But he's warming up the bench, so yeah, ignore the farfetch'd with the leek in his bill.
Two other team members are currently being worked on (as well as Vermillion's revised outfit). So yeah, tada.
Team Zero Percent is all c. me.
PCA is c. Ebony Leopard (I think).
And Pokemon is all c. by Nintendo (Don't sue me, I love Pokemon Diamond).

Mal looks like he's got that James Dean-type rebel quality about him, if you ask me. It'd be interesting if he kept a sort of throwback look while the rest of the team's clothing was more modern in style.
And I rather like Vermillion's current look too, kinda cyberpunk-ish in ways. especially with those glasses and the hairstyle.
And of course... all together now... YAY FURRET! :D

Mal as a James Dean-type? Hmm. I didn't really think of that. Hmm. Perhaps. I did an earlier sketch of him in a more samurai'ish look, just to try it out. Hmm. I'll keep fiddling with his design some more. But the small leek in his bill. That HAS to stay.
Yeah, Vermillion's going to be the more ultra-modern-punkish look to him. Although finding something I think would look good is still up in the air.
Glad someone else loves Furrets too. Sure they're not very tough, but I'm not making the Zeros to be tough. Hmm. I should go work on team member #3 & 4. I already changed #3 this afternoon after I got a better idea. Heh. Time to go scribble that down.

The leek is what gave me the impression at first. I had this mental image of him sitting on an old-school motorcycle, leaning on the handlebars and giving that look to some small-town sheriff that's acting a bit too big for his britches. (Yeah, I have a busy imagination. :) )
Personally I think what Vermillion's got going now works pretty good without going into goofy cartoonish territory. Of course, it is your call ultimately. And for some reason I can only imagine those shades being tinted red, probably because Rattata have red eyes normally.
One of my characters has a pet Furret, so yeah I do like 'em quite a bit. :) Furrets don't need to be that tough, simply because they're so darn fast that it's hard to really hit one to begin with. I also find it very interesting that you have a Furret and a Rattata on the same team, since everything I've read in the games marks them as natural enemies...
