Given that he's previously smashed down a wall with an axe, Theran isn't one to be stopped by a flimsy iron chain nailed to a brick wall - and given that he's previously out-roared a demon, he's quite adept at scaring the piss out of people if he's sufficiently annoyed at them :P

Not sure if he's in love, actually. Very loyal to his friends, but so far only Kharma is recorded positive at love-o-meter. Theran is still unaware and at best physically attracted to Kharma ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9429594/ for reference ) for what we can assume so far.
