I love remixing simpler 8-bit themes like the ones in G/S/C. It allows for a lot more freedom. On top of that, the originals don't really have assigned instruments or genres that they work better with than others, so that's sort of left up to the listener to interpret.
I always thought of the Tin/Bell Tower theme as something like this: A bit sad, kinda mellow, but still creepy enough to put you a little on-edge. I put in the bell to add to that effect a bit.
