I think I'm starting to get the hang of making 3d shapes with fabric.
Here's another experiment based roughly on my character - but with a pink sole (because it's the only thin fleecy fabric I had and I think it looks nice)...
In all pictures except the bottom one, it's stuffed with scrap fabric. (Sorry for the lumps)
In the bottom picture, it's stuffed with me. :P
It still needs a little work. I think I'll cinch the heel up a bit.
My plans for this design is for making wearables or for building these into a giant plush.... Or maybe building a wearable giant plush... I dunno.

That is true, of course. Nevertheless, most makers of anything involving footwear seem to be able to manage with shoe size alright. Then again, I don't really know much about measurements, so it could be a lot more complicated than I think it is.
